The Whites trained on pitch 3 of Ciudad Real Madrid two days ahead of their La Liga debut.
The squad continued their preparations for their inaugural La Liga game against Sporting, which takes place in El Molinón on Sunday (8:30pm CEST). The Whites carried out an intense and varied training session in which the ball featured heavily on pitch 3 of Ciudad Real Madrid. Benzema and Coentrão are still recovering from injuries.
The session got underway with a warm-up routine using the ball in which the players had to complete two exercises: a match in which they used their hands to pass the ball and tried to score with their heads, and another game in which they also had to score with their heads but, linked together in pairs, used their feet to set up goalscoring opportunities.
For his part, Rafa Benítez chatted with Carlos Mejía Dávila, a former First Division international referee, about the recent amendments and directives applied to the officiating rules for the upcoming season. Following on from that, the Whites' coaches instructed the whole team through some technical-tactical work and the training session concluded with a demanding game played on a smaller sized pitch.
